Contact Lens Replacement Schedules:

  • Monthly & Bi-Weekly
    • These lenses are to be removed nightly for disinfection and cleaning
  • Daily
    • Healthiest modality for contact lens wear (Ideal for children and teenagers)
    • Contact lenses are disposed of after that day’s use
    • A fresh pair is worn each time contacts are worn

Contact Lens Solutions:

There are a number of contact lens solutions available and in choosing a contact lens care system, it is important to consider whether or not they are compatible with your contact lenses, and also your eyes.

  • “No-Rub” Solutions – Despite the claim, it is still advised to rub your contact lenses to physically remove any deposits that may have formed on the contact lens.
  • Peroxide based care systems – Excellent systems for disinfecting, and cleaning contact lenses
    • CAUTION: Allow enough time for the peroxide solution to neutralize to water (typically 6 hours)
